Gobabis in Namibia

Gobabis is the largest town east of Windhoek.  This area is well known for its cattle farms and it is also the gateway to the TransKalahari Highway, linking Namibia to Botswana and South Africa. The completion of this highway resulted in the development of several new tourist lodges in the surrounding areas.

General information and & tips on the area:

  • Either a one or two night stay depending on your interests in the area.
  • A variety of lodges in the area who offer activities such as:  nature walks, nature drives, and visiting the Bushman community.
  • A visit to the Gobabis Museum situated on the outskirts of town
  • A visit to the Harnas Wildlife Foundation
