Departure dates are indicated on the RATE SHEET but are tailor-made dates to suite the client are also possible.
Pre-Arrival Safari Information:
The following details have been put together to give you a basic understanding of what to expect on your safari and some requirements.
Legal requirements:
You are required to accept the standard terms and conditions of the company . On arrival and before the safari will depart, you are required to acknowledge this by signature.
Namibia:
Namibia is a vast barren land with stark beauty. Even though we can offer areas such as the Etosha National Park to view the large numbers of game, the Namib Desert and its surroundings are barren but enchantingly beautiful. We also offer interest such as the primitive nomadic Himba tribes and other ethnic groups.
Health:
Even though we do not place any age restrictions on any of our safaris, we except that participants are reasonably fit to join any of our tours. Please bear in mind that at some stages we cover long distances through the desert or rough terrain. The daylight hours can be very hot whilst the evenings, especially during the winter months (June to September), can fall below freezing. The northern areas of Namibia is malaria country. Please consult your doctor regarding malaria tablets to use. Prevention is better than cure so use mosquito repellent liberally. With the extremely dry country, please ensure you have enough moisturising lotions and sun "blockouts" to protect your skin.
Luggage:
Due to the fact that we are mobile safaris and need to control the weight we carry, we request you to keep your luggage to a maximum of 10 kilograms. The most convenient is a "soft type" to carry all and not a suitcase that could be damaged in the packing. See suggested clothing and personal item list.
Insurance:
It is recommended that you arrange your own travel insurance with your travel agent against possible medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage and cancellations (your own). We cannot be held responsible for any losses or damages.
Money:
In some of the more remote areas, credit cards are not accepted so please make sure you have some cash with you. US Dollars would be recommended which are the most convenient to exchange.
Drinks:
All alcoholic drinks and any other special requirements are for your own account whether at a lodge or on safari. The guide will always give you sufficient time to purchase what you require. Please note that the Namibian climate is very dry and you will need to drink more liquids than "normal". All the tap water in Namibia has been purified or is directly from boreholes and is safe to drink. You do not have to purchase drinking water unless you wish to do so.
Personal Requirements:
All personal requirements such as laundry, medical items (we do carry a First Aid Box on Safari), tips and so on are for your own account. Your guide will assist you where possible.
Photography:
Namibia is a photographer's haven !! Please ensure you bring enough film with you. You can, however, purchase film in most areas of the country but it would be disappointing to run out when you need it most! We suggest you bring along a good pair of binoculars for the added pleasure. Due to the dusty conditions, we suggest you have a good dust-proof camera bag and/or a plastic bag to protect your camera equipment.
Driving Conditions:
The roads are rough, bumpy and very dusty. At times we travel off the road and possible injuries may occur (hitting a rock or pothole!). Even though every precaution is taken for this not to happen, the company cannot be held responsible for any accidents or damages. If you are not happy to travel in these areas, please discuss this with your travel agent. No vehicle is dust proof and we suggest "zip-type" containers for your personal items and photographic equipment.

Please ensure you are aware of the departure dates and starting times of all safaris.
